Jag hade en tredagars helg så det blev mycket arbete med min Kalmar.


Det bakre hörnet är nu ihopsatt och jag har långsamt börjat bygga lager för att göra den jämn och stark igen.


Arbetet med innerskärmarna är nästan klart. Jag lade förstärkningar på insidan för att ge extra styrka innan jag monterar frontpanelen.


Ytterskärmen har renoverats och är nästan redo att monteras igen. Jag kommer att vänta med den slutliga installationen tills motorrummet är klart.

Hello again....
Another quick update on "POSTAL PETE".
I have been very lucky this year because of no snow (there has been nothing in Vermont so far)...not normal but happily accepted.

I was able to purchase a set of steel bumpers (Volvo 140) for the Kalmar.


They have undergone a good cleaning and painting before I test fitted them.

I have had to make a major repair to the Steering Rack, there was a rust hole in the end which allowed it to rust solid and stop working.

The Rack was taken apart, cleaned and sealed again. It works perfect now.


After a full inspection of the Frame this is the only place I will need to weld or repair.

The rest of the frame is perfect. I will have to replace all the mounting rubbers since they are too worn out.

The old windshield was removed and I will try to have one made here...if that fails,I will still be looking for a new one.

The bumpers fits really good. Is it okay if I move the thread to the "project section" where it fits better?

Does anyone know how and where this bar is bolted on. Mine was off when the Kalmar arrived.

If anyone has some close photos it will help.

The past few days it has been so nice (6-8C and sunny) that I was able to take the Kalmar outside for more work.
*(De senaste dagarna har det varit så trevligt (6-8 C och soliga) att jag kunde ta Kalmar utanför för mer arbete.)

A lot of work was needed to repair the Left Fender and many layers of Fiberglass had to be applied.
*(En hel del arbete behövdes för att reparera vänster Fender och många lager av glasfiber hade tillämpas.)


Today the Fender is back on temporarily after a few layers of filler and much sanding.
*(Idag är Fender tillbaka på tillfälligt efter några lager av fyllnadsmedel och mycket slipning.)


I also had the chance to remove all the floor matting and rubber door seals today.
*(Jag fick också chansen att ta bort alla golv projektion och gummi dörren sälarna idag)
Unfortunatly, I found more Canadian post driver damage when I removed the floor covering.
*(Ut, att jag hittade mer kanadensisk efter drivrutinen skador när jag tagit bort golvbeläggningsmaterial.)

This crack will need to be repaired tomorrow.
*(Denna crack kommer att behöva repareras i morgon.)

The weather has been crazy here (still very cold) so not too much has happened with the Kalmar....


The Driver's side floor has been repaired.


Driver's side inner fender is now finished. I just need to do the Brakes.


Repairs to the Left Inner Fender has been started.
