I am about to buy a Kalmar Tjorven

Hi all,

After a long search I have found a Kalmar for sale in the Netherlands.
It is in a rather good condition, exported from Sweden about 10 years ago and standing still in a garage ever since.

The chassisnummer is 51036.
I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows this car and its history, which might give me some insight in the status of the car.

I am seriously thinking about buying it!

Thanks for your response

Richard

Hi,

See photo.

The paperwork says that the car is exported in 2009.
The previous owner is called Per Erik Ingemar (I will leave out his lastname for privacy reasons) from a place called Paryd.

I am not sure (my Swedish is pretty rusty ;) ) but could it be that the license plate number was EPW 956?

Curious if someone on this forum has ever came across this car when it was still in Sweden (i know it has been standing in a garage in the Netherlands like this since it has been exported)

- Bodywork is in good condition, has some small damages here and there, but nothing serious.
- Underneath the car looks good as well, There is some rust, but again nothing serious.
- Car is complete, all parts are there
- variomatric belts seem fairly new and in good shape
- Haven't heard the engine, but seller says he had it run 3 years ago (engine looks well maintained for what its worth)

Curious what you think this car is worth

EPW968 is correct license plate number it had here in Sweden. I found two old Pictures, probably from when it was for sale before it came to Holland 2009. Price is hard to set without seeing it in real but i think maby 2500-3500 EUR in NL would be a fair price today if engine and brakes work as they should.

Thanks for looking it up!

And thanks for your input.
I can buy the car for 2950,- which felt like a fair price, and corresponds with your estimate.

That means I am going for it and will become a Kalmar owner!
(which also means you will probably see mee more often on the forum)

Regards,

Richard

Go for it and you are welcome to the forum with questions and more. Are this Tjorven registered in Holland?

Hi,

After a somewhat slow start, my dad and I are now really kicking it off with the renovation project.

We have stripped the car down to the point it is now only the clean body on the chassis.
(we have lifted the body already somewhat from the chassis, so it is resting on some wooden beams).
Engine has been taken out
All body parts have been repaired and have been painted with their first layer of primer
Next steps are taking of the rest of the body;
Strip down the chassis;
Repair the body so it can go to paint as well;
Sandblast the chassis and then...

Slowly but steady start rebuilding
