THANK YOU FREDRIK.....The 30cm rubber piece arrived here yesterday. It is much appreciated 8-) 8-)

Work on "Postal Pete" continues...

The right fender has been installed. I made an Aluminum support strip (to replace that thin piece of original steel)
Bild
This new strip holds the inner & outer fenders together.
Bild
I used 12 Stainless screws on top and 7 pop-rivets at the door to finish it off.

The new front body mounts are finally finished. Using the Hockey Pucks worked fine. :D
I did have to cut some access holes to remove the old bolts...this was the only way because I did not have to remove the body from the Chassis.
This is the new assembly which was fabricated to hold the new mounts in place. I had bo choice, the support rail had rusted through in a few places. :(
Bild

This is the access hole behind the Dashboard and the new assembly welded in place.
Bild
A cover door of PVC was made when I finished.
Bild

I also cut a doorway to reach the other mount and after welding the new mount in place a door made from a sheet of PVC was made to cover the hole.
Bild
Once painted it will not be too noticeable. ;)
The body is now secure. It took some time to replace the mounts but the cost was very small. :)

Good that it came up to you, it would be fun to see when you fix the glass in the door. Can we follow it here on the forum?

I will post new photos of the window repair Fredrik when the new Glass comes back from my Glass shop. (I will most likely get to that after my vacation next month) ;)

Work in the front compartment continues so that the rebuilt 12 volt 850cc motor can be installed.
I have completed the repair on the support housing with new metal plates.

Once more, this piece is strong again.

There is still much work to be done in the motor compartment but I am making progress.

Some progress to report...
After returning from my vacation to Holland and the UK work has resumed on "Postal Pete".
First of all....A BIG thank you to Ronny Muis for finding my new Windshield. I was sorry that I did not get to meet you face to face because you were at work but it was nice to meet your wife and the kids. :) :)

Since there was no way to remove the tank for cleaning without removing the Variomatic I decided to flush it out to remove all the old gasoline and varnish built up inside.
Bild
After the flush 10 liters of paint thinner was poured in and allowed to sit for two weeks to disolve any nasty stuff.

The left front fender has also been re-installed and finished...
Bild
So both fenders are now in place, ready for the next step.

This week I am painting the Engine compartment so that I can begin to re-wire the Kalmar to 12 volt and think about putting the new 850cc motor in.

More to follow...... :D

Thanks Ronny. I will let you know when it arrives. I could not carry it on the plane so My friend Matt Stapper will be sending it from Waalre.

Bild
Today the engine compartment is ready. All the painting and clear-coating has been done with everything back in it's place.

On to the next project.....

I have decided to remove the Secondary assemblies out of the way to make more room while working underneath.
Bild
It makes life so much easier to reach everything for cleaning and re-painting. ;)

I now only have one BIG problem;
Bild
The Secondary Sheaves are rust damaged and might not be useable anymore. Since I will not be able to find replacements here, I need to do something.
I am going to try a few things to repair them and I'll update with the results as well as what product I found works best.
